As part of the "Women in the Arts" festival, the New Hazlett Theater presents Vanessa German at her best in this multimedia one-woman performance, Testify.

Testify addresses the issue of violence in our communities. The show combines spoken word with film, visual art, traditional theater, music, folk tale, and movement. Inspired as a response to the contradiction between Pittsburgh’s 2007 title as “America’s Most Livable City” and 2006’s leading record nationwide for black homicide rates, “Testify” includes filmed first-hand stories of victims and perpetrators of violent crime, community leaders and local Pittsburghers.
