Naijun Zhang: The Examiner and Heidi Taillefer
Michael Berger Gallery
30th South Sixth Street
Pittsburgh PA 15203
Opening Sept 25th, 2010

Zhang’s masterfully rendered scenes explore Chinese social construct & identity through appropriated photojournalist imagery. These intimate-yet-distant works portray quiet everyday moments where East & West merge, yet maintain their unique cultural aesthetics. The Examiner opens Saturday, September 25th with a Champagne Reception from 4 to 6 pm. Come and meet the artist!
Heidi Taillefer: Playing with Fire
Hiedi Taillefer’s fantastical paintings & drawings meld imagination, mythology & technology—with a nod to the baroque. Exquisitely executed machine parts cavort with nature. Technological & sensual bodies fuse. The tension is beautiful & horrible, macabre & graceful.

Heidi Taillefer: Ligozzi
Originally created to celebrate Infiniti’s 20th Anniversary and Cirque du Soleil’s 25th Anniversary and auctioned off for charity, “Ligozzi” is a fusion of the surrealistic and symbolic with mechanical elements typical of Heidi Taillefer’s style, appropriately created on an actual machine. The piece, which did not make any structural alterations to the car, represents a one-of-a-kind fusion of technology, imagination, technique, & painting. Michael Berger Gallery brings “Ligozzi” to Pittsburgh as part of Heidi Taillefer’s exhibition Playing with Fire, opening Saturday, September 25th with a Champagne Reception from 4 to 6 pm. Ms. Taillefer will be joining us at the opening.
