Verdure is a new community-based magazine dedicated to helping concerned residents of Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania make educated and informed choices.
We will be highlighting local producers, telling the stories of our communities, and helping our readers to cut their energy bills. In each issue, you'll find local projects and volunteer opportunities, a calendar of upcoming events, stuff to do with the kids and "Hoof It," a column devoted to walking activities in our neighborhoods.
We will be charging a buck for each copy, which we think will put our magazine into the hands of people looking to make some changes. People who care and will spend their dollars a little differently if we give them some tools and resources. 50 cents of every sale will go back into green and sustainable projects in the community. We're still working on that part, but we hope to establish a fund with the possibility of making grants and loans to local organizations and start-ups that share our passion for a clean, green Pittsburgh.

Started on August 20, 2007.pittsburgh area galleries and art venues are listed at the sister site www.PghGalleries.com.the blog and website are volunteer projects from fine art photographer and pittsburgh art advocate rick byerly, www.RickByerly.com.
