*** THE ARTISTS ***:
A F A I R I N T H E P A R K
is one of Pittsburgh's best kept secrets. Held in the lush surroundings of Mellon Park, this event is an end of summer artistic showcase. One of the only arts and crafts festivals in the United States presented and run by artists, A Fair in the Park features 100 American Contemporary Craft Artists from across the United States as they exhibit work in Clay, Textile, Glass, Metal, Jewelry, Wood and Mixed Media.

Also featuring special exhibitions and demonstrations, Some highlights include:
- The Pittsburgh Society of Sculptors will also be present with an outdoor sculpture exhibition in the Mellon Park Rose Garden.

- Articulate; Pittsburgh's Creative Network will be present to showcase their online registry of artists from South Western Pennsylvania and distribute the first ever Pittsburgh Gallery Guide.

- The Sogetsu Pittsburgh Study Group - Ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) - will exhibit a show titled Iron, Glass and Flowers to commemorate the Sogetsu School's 80th anniversary and the Pittsburgh Celebrate Glass Events in The Mirror Room at Phipps Garden Center.

- The Mobile Museum featuring Alberto Almarza will be present to demonstrate the process of Pok Pottery.

- Glass, Wood, Metal, Jewelry and Mixed Media demonstrations by: The Pittsburgh Glass Center, Wood Turners Anonymous, The Tree Carver, Isis Art Jewelry, Facets of Light, Clancy Paper Works, DiRenna Designs and Fig Studios!


*** THE PERFORMING ARTISTS ***:

Mellon Park is located along Fifth and Shady Avenues in Pittsburgh's Shadyside area. It is adjacent to the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. Admission is free. Parking is also free on surrounding streets.


Fair Hours:
Friday, September 7th: 1 PM - 7 PM
Saturday, September 8th: 10 AM - 7 PM
Sunday, September 9th: 10 AM - 5 PM
