*About Josh MacPhee:*
Josh MacPhee is an artist, curator and activist currently living in Brooklyn, NY. His work often revolves around themes of history, radical politics, and public space. His most recent books are *Paper Politics: Socially Engaged Printmaking Today* (PM Press, 2009) and *Signs of Change: Social Movement Cultures 1960s to Now* (AK Press, 2009, co-edited with Dara Greenwald), both based on touring exhibits of the same name. He also organizes the Celebrate People's History Poster Series and is part of the public art group Spectresofliberty.com. Locally, Signs of Change was exhibited at the Miller Gallery at Carnegie Mellon University in Winter 2009, and Paper Politics was exhibited at Space in Summer 2010. The exhibit currently on view at Justseeds is the most comprehensive exhibit off Josh's own prints to date.

*About Justseeds:*
Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative is a decentralized network of 26 artists committed to making print and design work that reflects a radical social, environmental, and political stance. With members working from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, Justseeds operates both as a unified collaboration of similarly minded printmakers and as a loose collection of creative individuals with unique viewpoints and working methods. We believe in the transformative power of personal expression in concert with collective action. To this end, we produce collective portfolios, contribute graphics to grassroots struggles for justice, work collaboratively both in- and outside the co-op, build large sculptural installations in galleries, and wheatpaste on the streets – all while offering each other daily support as allies and friends.

The Pittsburgh Art Blog

The Pittsburgh Art Blog features selected pittsburgh artists and upcoming exhibits with photos from the artists and galleries. since the major press outlets do not go beyond a directory listing of exhibits, blogs are needed to promote pittsburgh artists and their work. the blog also calls attention to the inferiority complex of pittsburgh art and how it's perpetuated by the major players in town. Started on August 20,2007. pittsburgh area galleries and art venues are listed at the sister site www.PghGalleries.com.

the blog and website are volunteer projects from fine art photographer and pittsburgh artist advocate rick byerly.
