Art What You Got, Pittsburgh Polish Hill Art Festival July 20,2008

2010 Polish Hill Arts Festival Info here.

Coming Sunday, July 20, 2008
Art What You Got is Polish Hill’s first-ever arts festival!Art What You Got will take place on Sunday, July 20 from 12-7pm.

Forty artists will be displaying and selling their original artwork and crafts, ranging from t-shirts, jewelry and calendars to photography, ceramics and fine art. The music line up includes Irish folk, soul, big band, folk rock, classic rock and heavy rock. Many of the artists and several musicians are Polish Hill residents, but artists are from all over the Pittsburgh area.

Even the food promises to be memorable, featuring pickles-on-a-stick (selling for a mere .57 cents!), pierogies, halushki, kielbasa, burgers, and tacos-in-a bag. Art What You Got will be completely outdoors, rain or shine, under tents on Brereton Street between Dobson Street and 30th Street.
The festival will also feature several special guests: The Andy Warhol Museum, The Mattress Factory, Society for Contemporary Crafts, The Sprout Fund, and The Artists for Hope Foundation. Live ice sculpting will be demonstrated by Mastro Ice at 3:00 pm. Activities for kids include a face painter, origami hats, and hands on crafts provided by the special guest arts organizations. Basket raffles with Polish Hill memorabilia and the chance to win cash will finish off the festival.

“Our arts festival will give all of our residents and neighbors a chance to appreciate creative arts and crafts - unique things to inspire our unique neighborhood,” says Terry Doloughty, Polish Hill Civic Association President. “By giving the Art What You Got festival it’s home, we hope Polish Hill is recognized as a place where anything is possible.”
