plenty of sleep when we're dead: artists Mike Egan, Josh Iddings, Ron Copeland and Christian Breitkreutz

5PM-10PM FAST>>FWD GALLERY 3700 PENN AVE.
April 2, 2010
5:00 pm to 10:00 pm

PLENTY OF SLEEP WHEN WE’RE DEAD is a four-person exhibition featuring the latest work of Mike Egan, Josh Iddings, Ron Copeland and Christian Breitkreutz. See how all four artists explore the concept of life, death and the small time we have in between to achieve the goals and desires that each one of us has. Prepare to see a wide range of styles from obsessively pieced together screen-printed collage work to stylized narratives to brilliantly executed “funeral portraits” and see how these artists collectively convey the thoughts you are too frightened to have. fastfwdart@gmail.com

The Pittsburgh Art Blog

pittsburgh galleries is reborn anew as The Pittsburgh Art Blog. the blog features selected pittsburgh artists and upcoming exhibits with photos from the artists and galleries. since the major press outlets do not go beyond a directory listing of exhibits, blogs are needed to promote pittsburgh artists and their work. the blog also calls attention to the inferiority complex of pittsburgh art and how it's perpetuated by the major players in town. Started on August 20, 2007.

pittsburgh area galleries and art venues are listed at the sister site www.PghGalleries.com.

the blog and website are volunteer projects from fine art photographer and pittsburgh art advocate rick byerly, www.RickByerly.com.

Zombo Friday, March 27th starting at 6pm

Loads of free booze and snacks will be ready for your consumption. Also see the work of Ron Copeland, who I'm sharing the show with. 95% of my work will be all new shit, so you'll be in for a treat.

Show Statement:
"Zombo Art Gallery presents, "Don't Let Me Die": A collection of new work from Christian Breitkreutz. The exhibit depicts the day-to-day struggles that deal with death and dying and the ending of everything. Christian Breitkreutz conveys a message that something is wrong while maintaining a low-level humor in his work. Visit Zombo Gallery for the exhibit opening Friday, March 13, 2009 for a night of bad luck, superstitions, and a new perspective on life's splendid turmoils.
