Human Rights Day Celebration

Description: In honor of Human Rights Day, the Pittsburgh Human Rights Network will be hosting a night of social awareness, live music and drinks in order to celebrate the progress of human rights in the world, rather than mourning the abuses and negative aspects that are all too often focused upon. This evening will also highlight the important work that local community organizations are doing to educate the Pittsburgh community and promote human rights around the world.
This evening will provide a great opportunity for anyone interested in getting involved with human rights in Pittsburgh or to network with local organizations. We are lucky enough to be able to host this event at the Shadow Lounge with Joy Ike, TimbaVida, and Global Beats providing live entertainment throughout the evening. We will also have items to raffle off from various local favorites, including Conflict Kitchen, Commonwealth Press, Remedy Restaurant and Lounge, Union Grill, Sphinx Cafe Hookah Bar, Lezzet Restaurant & more to come!

The Pittsburgh Art Blog features selected pittsburgh artists and upcoming exhibits with photos from the artists and galleries. since the major press outlets do not go beyond a directory listing of exhibits, blogs are needed to promote pittsburgh artists and their work. the blog also calls attention to the inferiority complex of pittsburgh art and how it's perpetuated by the major players in town.
