“Forever Ago,” a show of new works by multi-talented local designer, artist, and blogger Mundania Horvath

WildCard will be hosting the world premier of “Forever Ago,” a show of new works by multi-talented local designer, artist, and blogger Mundania Horvath (www.steeltownanthem.com). This is Mundania’s first show since 2002, and it ties in with the launch of her new magazine, Steeltown Anthem, which has its first print issue in August.

Mundania, who grew up in the Pittsburgh area and moved back to the city in 2009, has long been fascinated with the images of industry surrounding the Three Rivers region. Says Mundania, “I enjoy taking apart found objects, using images from the past and typography to construct art that evokes a genuine reaction.” Incorporating pop culture elements, text, and vintage photography, She is creating original collages on wood using paint and mixed media for this new show. Wildcard will also have Mundania Horvath’s prints for sale, along with the first issue of Steeltown Anthem.

Opening night is Friday, August 26th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, featuring free drinks, refreshments, and music from Lawrenceville DJ Llamo. Pieces will be available for viewing as well as for sale. The show will be up in WildCard’s gallery through September.

The Pittsburgh Art Blog

The Pittsburgh Art Blog features selected pittsburgh artists and upcoming exhibits with photos from the artists and galleries. since the major press outlets do not go beyond a directory listing of exhibits, blogs are needed to promote pittsburgh artists and their work. the blog also calls attention to the inferiority complex of pittsburgh art and how it's perpetuated by the major players in town. Started on August 20,2007. pittsburgh area galleries and art venues are listed at the sister site www.PghGalleries.com.

the blog and website are volunteer projects from fine art photographer and pittsburgh artist advocate rick byerly.
