With Live Flamenco Music, Dance and Food

Art on Gist Street invited painter Luis Castellanos Velui to exhibit work and paint a colorful mural in Pittsburgh. In a unique community collaboration with the Pittsburgh Deaf Club, Luis will paint a 10'x15' work on their building on Gist Street in Uptown. The painting will incorporate American Sign Language, "signing", into the composition. Luis' work can be found worldwide in prestigious public and private collections. Luis is based on Lake Chapala near Guadalajara, Mexico.

On September 7th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm Luis will give a lecture:

Forty Years of Painting in Mexico at University of Pittsburgh, Posvar Hall
(Next to the HIllman Library), Room 4130 This project was partially supported by Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts through a Project Stream grant.

Show runs through Saturday September 3rd.
