Metal Njight: The Artwork of Ed Steck

Opening Friday February 6, 2009, 7 - 10pm

ModernFormations Gallery and Performance Space 4919 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh PA. 15224 412-362-0274

Natural landscapes experience slow corrosion. Habitats form from the destruction of the old. Layers of earth become distant; inter-mixed and interchangeable with foreign soil. Infertile seeds travel the toxic, alien terrains of the electronic age.
Pollution. Sludge. Waste. Smog. Refuse. Trash.
The human race progresses the complete and utter destruction of nature. Bleak slabs of endless concrete replace the once lush green sprawl.
The imagined desert.
Industry (Humanity) manufactures technological landscapes; Steel sheets rusting and crumbling in silence.
The new nature of decay splattered with sparse dregs of failing life.
Metal Njight
Ed Steck lives in Pittsburgh.
Exhibit runs to the 27th.
Gallery hours: Thursday 6-9pm, Saturday 1-4pm, by appointment.
