Peter Max:
The latest retrospective features over 140 pieces of unique Peter Max artwork, including original paintings and drawings. The subject matter of the work ranges from the well known "Cosmic" images, to his famous iconic paintings, such as the “Statue of Liberty,” and "Flag with Heart" and the latest edition, the newly unveiled portrait of President Obama.
Max has painted an installation of 44 portraits of President Barack Obama to commemorate our new 44th President. Max was deeply inspired by this historical election, as well as for the renewed hope and enthusiasm that Obama has generated amongst hundreds of millions of people in America and around the world. Single portraits of Obama will be featured in the exhibit.
With paintings on exhibition in hundreds of museums and galleries worldwide, Peter Max and his vibrant colors have become a part of the fabric of contemporary culture. Often incorporating iconic symbols of America into his work, Max has painted for seven U.S. presidents, created the official artwork and poster for the Clinton Inauguration, his "Flag With Heart" impressionistic paintings of the American flag are in permanent installations in the Carter, Reagan and Bush presidential libraries in addition to his statue of Liberty paintings, which have become an annual painting tradition since America's Bicentennial, in 1976 and led to Max playing a lead role in the renovation of the Statue of Liberty. For more info on the paintings please visit http://www.petermax.com/. ***300 DPI ARTWORK AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST***
