Brian James Gonnella's "Postcards from Babylon" Imagebox Gallery Pgh Pa

Don't miss this! Part of Unblurred Friday June 3, 2011 from 7-10 pm

"Postcards from Babylon" is a collection of new and newish works from Pittsburgh based artist/gentlemen/scholar, Brian James Gonnella. Indicative of the times, and preoccupied with the all-too-American obsessions of violence, mass-consumption and eschatology--Gonnella has created a series of images he feels encapsulates a few of the sad realities of this dark, Id-infatuated modern age via satire and atom-bomb-bright colored narratives. Opening night in June 3rd at Imagebox on Penn Ave., running until the end of the month."

The Pittsburgh Art Blog

The Pittsburgh Art Blog features selected pittsburgh artists and upcoming exhibits with photos from the artists and galleries. since the major press outlets do not go beyond a directory listing of exhibits, blogs are needed to promote pittsburgh artists and their work. the blog also calls attention to the inferiority complex of pittsburgh art and how it's perpetuated by the major players in town. Started on August 20,2007. pittsburgh area galleries and art venues are listed at the sister site

the blog and website are volunteer projects from fine art photographer and pittsburgh artist advocate rick byerly.
