Artist of the Year : Delanie Jenkins

Opening September 14 :

September 14 - November 4, 2007

About Delanie Jenkins:

Delanie uses a variety of ordinary materials to create site specific installations, sculptural objects and images that are inextricably tied to memory. The collection and counting of organic materials are at the core of her artistic investigations. Through the poetic use of the materials’ color, texture and smell combined with strong associations with language, family, home and place, she explores the life cycles of birth and decay.

Delanie Jenkins is the 2007 Artist of the Year. She is a recognized Pittsburgh artist and Chair and Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh. She has received numerous honors and awards locally and nationally.

Dimensions for Vanishing Points

About Adam Grossi:

Adam Grossi is a painter, video/performance artist and writer. The paintings, prints, and drawings featured in this show, entitled Dimensions for Vanishing Points , are an exploration into cultural imagery: from advertising photographs, to the pamphlets that sell houses or medications, to the diagrams that explain bone structures and wind currents. Refusing to acknowledge the boundaries between these methods of visual communication, Grossi's hybrid compositions offer welcome mats as they simultaneously pull the rug out from underneath our feet.

He received his BFA from Carnegie Mellon University. His paintings have been exhibited at Pittsburgh's Mattress Factory, the Three Rivers Arts Festival, and the Greater Reston Arts Center in Virginia. Currently, Grossi is headed to Chicago to pursue an MFA at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
