Sean Derry is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the CMU School of Art.

I wanted to let you know about a public installation I am organizing in Braddock. The project, An Interlude to Stillness, will be on display October 22nd - 25th, 2008, in the 300 block of Braddock Avenue in Braddock.

In reaction to the condition of abandonment and loss, An Interlude to Stillness attempts to re-animate an abandoned parking lot through the inflation of 30 multicolored inflatable automobiles that have been sewn from second-hand bed sheets.Volunteers are needed to assist with the presentation of this large-scale art installation. Please join us in Braddock between the hours of 9:00a-6:00p.

Due to the scale of the project participants are needed on the 22nd, 23rd, 24th, and 25th to help operate stationary motor-scooters that power the air pumps and also assist in recomposing the parking lot full of multi-colored inflatable cars.
For more information on An Interlude to Stillness please visit The activities each day are weather permitting.
