YOUNG AMERICANA SURVEY OF WORK FROM CREATORS AT THE LAST FRONTIERS OF ART
SATURDAY NOV. 1st 2008 AT THE FRAME 7pm-10pm Performance at 8
Curator Daniel Sterling has collected three of the most truthful, dangerous, and hypnotic artists of this generation onward. For one night, Gabriel King, David Laskey, and the reclusive Margot Goldberg will accompany their work at The Frame Gallery. With a vicious mix of reason, passion, and abandon, these Artists have shown us what Art is, and what it will surely be for years to come.

For years Gabriel King has been challenging us to see as he does: to see that his sculptures are ubiquitous and endless. Dealing with issues of the material and immaterial alike, he deftly twists and ties our minds into knots, letting us pick up the pieces.

Wrestling, gnashing, and laughing with ideas of space and gender, David Laskey has quickly become a force in the Baltimore artscape. Reworking familiar images into objects barely recognizable, he leads the viewer to the edge of the familiar, into an arcane, unknown, and foreboding environment.

Enigmatic, Dynamic, Forceful, Fluid, Awesome, Awful. These words and more begin to describe what Margot Goldberg has become. After fleeing New York in the height of her success at age 17, Goldberg settled in Pittsburgh to create her next display. Now, Goldberg will show her inspiring “Lady of Night” along with new, never before seen works.
