The Council’s Art + Technology Initiative Founders and Advisory Committee invite you to celebrate the launch of this innovative and unprecedented regional initiative. Founded on the idea that technology and art are creating a vital intersection in our culture, this event will launch an ongoing program to foster the exploration and growth of these two converging disciplines. Join us for drinks, discussion and the opportunity to provide direction for the future of art and technology in Pittsburgh.

About the Art and Technology Initiative

The Art & Technology Initiative was formed in 2008 in an effort to unite and cultivate the creative and technology communities in the Pittsburgh region. By exploring the various intersections of Art and Technology, and creating unprecedented strategic partnerships, the initiative aims to enhance the productivity of both groups, while fostering this nexus to spur regional progression. Founded on the idea that art and technology share the fundamental aspect of innovation, as well as a synergy at the forefront of cultural innovation, the Initiative and its partners are dedicated to unearthing the possibilities of this leading-edge fusion.

The purpose of the Art + Technology Initiative is to:

Increase knowledge of the region’s intersecting cultural, creative and technological climate.
To build a community of thought-leaders and individuals who explore how art and technology can improve our regional dynamic.
Offer resources such as events, symposiums and networking opportunities that highlight regional progress.
Advocate a regional culture that is both fertile for growth and ripe for talent attraction.
