Join us for The Sprout Fund’s 8th annual Hothouse summer benefit on Saturday, August 28th at Baum Boulevard & Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield at the old Don Allen Auto City.

An unforgettable evening of live music, local artists, performances, and food & drink awaits you at Hothouse 2010. One of Pittsburgh’s most popular (and populous) summer events, the event has been lauded as one of the top parties of the year and attracted more t...han 3,000 attendees last year.

As Sprout’s “live annual report” to the community, the event celebrates the organization’s accomplishments and features project exhibitions, live music and performances, food and drink by Pittsburgh favorites, a silent auction, and a VIP reception.

General Admission includes the main party from 9:00pm to 12:00am, complimentary food from Pittsburgh favorites, and complimentary beer, wine, and spirits (sold for $50 in advance/$60 at the door/$25 college students)

VIP Admission includes a reception from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, Sprout goodie bag with Hothouse T-Shirt, complimentary valet parking, and admission to main party (sold for $150)

Earn a free ticket to Hothouse as a set-up, night-of, or strike volunteer. Nearly 300 volunteers contribute more than 1,500 hours to make Hothouse happen each year.

Hothouse is The Sprout Fund’s annual benefit and showcase event. The event serves as stage to present a sampling of some of the innovative projects and emerging leaders of successful community initiatives supported by Sprout over the past year. Held annually at unique development sites, the event celebrates the organization’s accomplishments and features live music and performances, food and drink by Pittsburgh favorites, a silent auction, and a VIP reception.

With attendance greater than 2,000 every year since 2006, the event creates an incredible opportunity for the wide cross-section of Pittsburgh’s business and social circles that come together each year in support of Sprout’s mission to meet and mingle.

Support for the event has been strong every year; last year 35 financial sponsors, 30 media and in-kind supporters, 31 food & drink sponsors, and 91 silent auction donors joined hundreds of friends of the organization to raise nearly $170,000 for The Sprout Fund.

The Pittsburgh Art Blog

The Pittsburgh Art Blog features selected pittsburgh artists and upcoming exhibits with photos from the artists and galleries. since the major press outlets do not go beyond a directory listing of exhibits, blogs are needed to promote pittsburgh artists and their work. the blog also calls attention to the inferiority complex of pittsburgh art and how it's perpetuated by the major players in town. Started on August 20, 2007.pittsburgh area galleries and art venues are listed at the sister site blog and website are volunteer projects from fine art photographer and pittsburgh art advocate rick byerly,
