DON'T TREAD ON ME- a groundbreaking new film by acclaimed local artist Kyle Vannoy

The College Inn Project is proud to present the world premiere of DON'T TREAD ON ME – a groundbreaking new film by acclaimed local artist Kyle Vannoy. Following the enthusiastic critical reception of recent works such as "Mondo Summer" and "Please Kill Me,"DON'T TREAD ON ME represents an exciting stylistic advance for Vannoy’s promising oeuvre.

This bold and iconoclastic new short defies pictorial convention, disrupting expecta...tions of the figural and the sublime. Vannoy’s highly sophisticated and utterly original approach to cinematography forces the viewer to confront the optical volatility of the material world in an explosive and disturbingly personal way. This inventive and important composition complicates and comments upon the open-ended nature of the documentary as text, aggressively reclaiming the tactile object-hood of the medium. Intersecting allegories indict societal constructs of temporality, labor, enlightenment, and decay, inviting the viewer to explore the essences of interiority and desire.

Please join us on September 8, 2011, at 9 pm, for this important screening by an exciting young filmmaker.

Started on August 20,2007. pittsburgh area galleries and art venues are listed at the sister site www.PghGalleries.com.

the blog and website are volunteer projects from fine art photographer and pittsburgh artist advocate rick byerly.
