Hello Gist Street!

As 2008 winds down, I'm anticipating many good things in 2009. One is a bunch of stellar Gist Street readings. We are so pleased with our upcomingschedule we can't wait, and we hope you can't wait either.

On Friday, January 9, 2009 we usher in Horacio Castellanos Moya (fiction) and Paula Bohince (poetry). Join us. BYOB. Bring festive snacks. Bring afriend. BYOB.

Doors open at 7:15. Readings begin at 8pm. $5 will get you in and into the raffle where there may be some ingenious regifting along with books and your own tiny pie.

I'll be making said pie along with a couple big ones for the masses. Antoine will bring in the ice cream. Bob is our new "meat guy." And I hear thatJohn (along with drawing) has been making some mean spinach pies...

That's James Simon's Sculpture Studio, 305 Gist Street, Uptown, Pittsburgh. For bios and directions: www.giststreet.org Gist Street is proud to be supported by you, the Creativity Project, and Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PA Partners), the regional arts fundingpartnership of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency. State government funding comes through an annual appropriation by Pennsylvania's General Assembly and from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. PA Partners is administered in Allegheny County by the GreaterPittsburgh Arts Council.
