Teresa incorporates visions of science, holistic living, meditation, and dreams to inform her 2 dimensional works.
Teresa writes about her process: "My art process is an attempt to convey time, space, mass, energy, and light: Our perception of length, width, height, time and other planar dimensions after time. Each piece is layered to represent meditation, visions of memory, and the present moment." She explores the creation of the human body from stars that died billions of years ago.

McKeever Center's Nature Art Show September 26-28,2008

McKeever Center’s
6th Annual Nature Art Show
September 26-28, 2008

Nature artists representing photography, wildlife painting and pottery will display and sell their artwork during McKeever’s 6th Annual Nature Art Show.

Stroll through tree lined paved pathways enroute to art galleries inside five buildings. Each gallery will be filled with an artist’s work that reflects the wonders and beauty of nature.

Hours are: Friday: 6 PM – 9 PM, Saturday: 10 AM – 6 PM, Sunday: NOON – 4 PM.

On Friday night, Julie Harris, classical guitarist from Pittsburgh will perform from 6-9 PM in the Espresso Bar.

Food and beverages will be served throughout the weekend. Admission is free and open to the public.

Artist Dean Cercone at Garfield Artworks

It was awesome to see a year and half's art work by Dean Cercone at Garfield Artworks during Unblurred. I don't like pre-filtering too much as far as the pgh art scene so I'll only say it's a must see. Dean is also a very talented musician from what I've heard and his myspace is here so you can keep an eye on what he's up to. I recommend checking out the Garfield Artworks music schedule here , keeping in mind that the best time to see art at Garfield Artworks isn't during the actual live music (the lights could be off and crowds of people may be in the way fixated on the stage). This workshop, with the artists Jake Peterson and Lauren F. Adams, will include local research scientists that experiment on animals and or model systems after animal behavior. The forum guests will discuss their jobs, experiences, and how their research connects (or disconnects) with human social behavior. It will also explore autonomous tools (robots) and their implications for the future of labor.
