Chances are you missed a bizarre and outrageously funny comedy show at the Obey House in Crafton Ingram last night. In an unusual alignment of "stars" there were players who ranged from a ridiculous ventriloquist to two hollywood actors and comedians along with a deadpan Pittsburgh comedian. Pittsburgh has it's share of movies in town and TJ Miller and Hayes MacArthur who performed on stage at Obey have been in town for the filming of She's Out of My League .
So imagine a mix of Pittsburgh comedians, Hollywood actors, a ventriloquist and a long standing bar in Crafton Ingram. The place was packed and people were laughing their heads off when TJ Miller did his headlining, including myself. Pittsburgh comedian Tom Henry won over the crowd with his odd, deadpan style. Hayes MacArthur received a lot of laughter for his performance and along with TJ Miller, managed to overcome what you might think of as the outsider disadvantage. TJ Miller is able to deliver both well written and improvisational humor tailored to the moment and place he's in at the time which will put him at the top of the national comedy scene so keep your eyes on TJ, Hayes, and Tom Henry. In fact you can see them and others perform at the Pittsburgh Improv tomorrow, Saturday, April 20, 2008 starting at 11pm. Ticket details here .
