2 In Photoshop: Alan Byrne and Rick Byerly
July 5-25, 2008 at the Monroeville Public Library, Reception time for Saturday July 5th is 6 to 8 pm.
Alan Byrne's digital paintings were created from scratch in Photoshop and Rick Byerly's texture images from ice shelves were converted to black and white via Photoshop with contrast adjustments. In a time of digital confusion among purists et al this exhibit shows just how close one can come to creating a reality via Photoshop without any camera images in Alan Byrne's work. Rick Byerly's texture studies of ice reveal moments in time as the sun was constantly changing the patterns. He shot the images in color with a digital slr camera and used Photoshop to convert to black and white and adjust for contrast. The exhibit runs from July 5 through July 25. Hours and address are below.
