Artist Bob Qualters at Bost Building April 1-June 14, 2008 Pittsburgh Art Homestead,PA

Bob Qualters artwork is amazing. A must see for anyone who lives in the Pittsburgh region or who is lucky enough to be visiting from April 1-June 14, 2008. He has not shown a lot of work in the last 10 years as far as I know so this is a real Pittsburgh art opportunity you don't want to miss out on. I met him recently at a group exhibit screening for the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh and his work is absolutely stunning. (Reference to his work at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts past show here at Artist Alan Byrne's Blog .

Monongahela Valley: A Time of Change, 1980-2000

April 1-June 14, 2008 at the Bost Building in Homestead,PA

The exhibit showcases original paintings, prints, photos, and posters by Robert Qualters that visually tell the story of the end of the industrial age in the Monongahela Valley. The pieces look beyond the industrial aspect of the downfall of Big Steel with the intention of revealing the lives of the people who fought through this period of change.

Bost Building is located at 623 E. 8th Avenue, Homestead, PA 15120

Exhibit hours: Monday through Friday, 10 am to 4 pm Saturday by appointment. The Bost Building will be CLOSED on Monday, May 26, 2008.

This exhibit is made possible by grants from the A.W. Mellon Educational and Charitable Trust Fund of The Pittsburgh Foundation, the Pennsylvania Heritage Parks Program, the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, and the National Park Service.
