Good to see that GPAC, The Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council, has a blog . Already looking to be a valuable art resource:
The NEA Offers a 21st Century Artist Profile
I also saw a link to a Tribune article on the McCune Foundation's suspension of unsolicited grant applications until September 30, 2008.
And the below info not being new news to a lot of people in the pgh art world:
According to the foundation's 2007 audit, one of its biggest investments is National City, which has been battered along with many other banks by rising defaults on mortgages and other types of loans.
National City shares, of which McCune owns more than 4.8 million, have tumbled nearly 91 percent, from $38.32 in April 2007 to $3.56 a share at the closing bell Tuesday on the New York Stock Exchange. The value of the foundation's shares has plunged from $185.1 million to nearly $17.4 million, a loss of $167.7 million.
